Motorcycle crashes have been blamed for a shocking spike in deaths on Queensland roads, prompting authorities to pen safety letters to every rider in the state.
There have been 83 lives lost on Queensland roads so far this year, 25 more than the same time last year.
Roads Minister Mark Bailey said 25 motorcycle riders have died in 2021, 12 above the average for the past five years.
“There are clearly too many motorcycle riders out there going a bit beyond their limits and there is also people who are not seeing them,” he said.
